Love, Kindness, Receiving Meditation

I’m writing this a few hours before our free community Loving Kindness Sound Meditation later today.

With Valentine’s Day looming and the festive season just gone, this time can be confronting for many.

Our expectations of the kind of life we may have dreamed of, or hoped for can be unrealistic or dashed, and we may feel broken, in despair.

Love can be the furthest thing you feel. Being loved, cared for. Hearts bruised or hearts permanently closed, locked off... Feelings of confusion uncertainty about what love is or could be. How to move forward?

Asking yourself these questions, going through dark, deep periods of reflection can be TOUGH. It can feel brutal with emotion. Plus, if you are doing that alone, loneliness can be crippling. In a perfect world, you’d have a friend/s who was available to sit with you. Someone who understands you don’t need fixing or advice. You need company.

Someone who would be there until bit by bit, layer by layer, the new path for you emerges. Like the first rays of the sun. However, those friends are rare, and I want to give you hope; you can be that true friend for yourself.

You CAN give yourself love and kindness. You can give yourself that space with gentleness. You can feel what you feel and not rush through it.

Start by holding a container for yourself to mentally empty out all those thoughts rushing around your head, telling you stories about the emotions you are feeling.

Release all your thoughts into that container, visualise yourself pushing them out with your breath. Fill the container to the very top, then pop on the lid.

Now feel the emotion. Let it expand. Give it space, let it dwell within you without having to think or make a story up about the feeling, just let it be. FEEL what you feel. Take a few deep breaths, settle.

This is the part where you can be your own beautiful and supportive best friend. X x Breathe in all the love and kindness you need.

Fill yourself with warmth, acceptance, and hope. Over and over. Breathe it in, fill yourself up. Drive love and kindness deep into your cells, feel yourself floating in a sea of love and kindness.

That’s what we will be doing today, at our Sound Meditation.

I am currently writing a series of meditations and working on artworks and poetry. I’ve had an intense few years of health rejuvenation and this is part of my processing and moving forward. The first thing to be ready will be the meditations. They will available on various platforms, including my favourite meditation app, Insight Timer.

This is a big jump for me. It may seem like a natural progression; however, I’ve been in huge resistance about moving forward with recording and releasing meditations. I dabbled in it 10 years ago and wasn’t ready.

Being the person out the front, the public person, is something I’m not comfortable with. I’ve spent most of my life assisting others with their business marketing and communication. I don’t feel the need to be the focus of attention. Now I am; it’s taken eight months of doing community sound meditations to feel it’s time for the next step. I’m excited to see what beautiful meditations I can create for you and how they can support you wherever you are in the world.

Free community meditations will continue and always be free. You can join us or watch on the Livestream on Facebook.

Thanks for your support and encouragement, my beautiful tribe.
